Easy read of the poem in the images above:
The Pillar of Flesh
anchors the craters
where my breasts
once lived, ache
settling deep in
the ruins of after,
the carcinomas
scraped, muscle
cleaved to the
ribs, pulled and
stret ched, over
tired,
overcompensating
for what’s no
longer there. The
nerves regrow.
Sensation doesn’t.
Skin forgets
touch, remembers
pressure, scars
fissuring pain.
This broken
column of jagged
lines: the nexus of
where all frac
tured things mend.
